Building Services

The City of Keego Harbor is committed to ensuring that construction projects are safe, code-compliant, and completed in accordance with state and local regulations. Whether you're building a new home, renovating an existing property, or completing a home improvement project, Building Services is here to help guide you through the permitting and inspection process.

Keego Harbor administers Building Services through a team of contracted building professionals, including the Building Official, inspectors, and plan review specialists. The City also provides in-house code enforcement services to help maintain safe, attractive, and well-maintained neighborhoods.

Before You Begin

Most construction projects require one or more permits before work begins. Depending on your project, you may need:

• Building Permit
• Electrical Permit
• Mechanical Permit
• Plumbing Permit
• Zoning Permit

If you are unsure which permits are required, please contact City Hall before starting your project. Staff can help determine the approvals needed and direct you to the appropriate application.

Scheduling Inspections

Building inspections are available by appointment. Because all inspectors serve the City on a part-time basis, a minimum of 24 hours' notice is required when scheduling an inspection.

Please do not contact inspectors directly. All inspections must be scheduled through City Hall.
