Rental Housing Registration
Quality rental housing is an important part of Keego Harbor's neighborhoods. Well supported rental housing can contribute to a safe, healthy, and vibrant community. The City's Rental Registration Program helps ensure that rental properties are properly maintained, comply with applicable building, fire, health, safety, and zoning standards, and provide quality housing for tenants while protecting neighborhood character.
All rental properties within the City must be registered and maintain a valid Certificate of Compliance before being occupied. Property owners are required to register each rental unit with the City, designate a responsible local agent, complete the required inspections, and maintain compliance with all applicable City ordinances and state laws.
Certificates of Compliance and rental registrations are valid for three years, and property owners must re-register each rental unit at least 30 days prior to expiration.
This page provides rental property owners with registration forms, inspection requirements, fee information, and other resources needed to maintain compliance. The City's goal is to work collaboratively with landlords to support safe, well-maintained rental housing that benefits tenants, property owners, and the community as a whole.
