Open Burning in Keego Harbor

The City of Keego Harbor regulates outdoor burning to reduce fire hazards, protect neighboring properties, and ensure fires are conducted safely. Chapter 11, Article III of the City Code establishes the requirements for outdoor fireplaces and stoves, fire pits, manufactured gas-burning units, and bonfires.

Fire-safety requirements are administered in coordination with the City’s designated fire authority, the Tri-City Fire Department. Certain installations require a building permit or approval from the designated Fire Chief.
