Welcome to the Keego Harbor Tax Increment Finance Authority
The Keego Harbor Tax Increment Finance Authority (TIFA) was established in 1986 with a simple but ambitious mission: to encourage reinvestment, strengthen the local economy, and improve the Cass Lake Road corridor through strategic public investment. For nearly four decades, the TIFA has served as one of the City's primary tools for supporting redevelopment and leveraging private investment to enhance our commercial district.
Today, the TIFA continues that mission through its 2025 Development and Tax Increment Financing Plan, which provides a long-term roadmap for creating a vibrant, walkable, and economically resilient district. Working in partnership with the City Council, local businesses, property owners, residents, and regional organizations, the TIFA invests in projects that improve public spaces, strengthen existing businesses, attract new investment, and enhance the overall experience of living, working, shopping, and visiting Keego Harbor.
Building on this momentum, Keego Harbor recently joined the Main Street Oakland County (MSOC) program as its 30th participating community. As a new Allied-level member, the City receives education, technical assistance, networking opportunities, and access to proven downtown revitalization strategies that complement the TIFA's mission. Participation in the Main Street program will help strengthen local capacity while supporting initiatives such as downtown branding, placemaking, business development, and implementation of Cass Lake Road redevelopment plan.
